Overview
A state-funded, 12-week creative workforce development curriculum.
I was hired by Get Lit, an education non-profit, via a State of California Governor’s grant to write and teach a Creative Workforce Skill Development curriculum. I taught a4-6 hour class every week with supplemental video tutorials (which you'll see samples of in the video). I focused on teaching real, foundational skills like how to write a good brief, how to research visual reference and mine for ideas, how to brainstorm in a methodical way, basic deck design and mood boarding, and even more advanced skills like social media asset design and basic editing and color grading.
But it wasn’t all technical skills, I also trained them on marketing and campaign strategy in preparation for presenting their final project—a mock campaign for a fictional merch drop.
*I also designed the program's Brand Identity and motion graphics assets.
